Game Report: Blues 3, Devils 1

The Vladimir Tarasenko, Brayden Schenn and Jaden Schwartz line led the Blues to another victory on Tuesday night.

All three players scored, and Tarasenko and Schenn also recorded two assists as the Blues improved to 6-2-1 on the road with the win against the Devils in New Jersey.

Schenn has now recorded six assists in his last two games.

After falling behind 1-0 early in the first period, the Blues tied the game on Tarasenko’s eighth goal of the season with 1:03 left in the second period.

A penalty on New Jersey in the closing seconds of the period put the Blues on a power play to begin the third period, and Schwartz quickly gave the Blues the lead when he scored off a perfect feed from Schenn just 32 seconds into the period. The goal was the ninth of the season for Schwartz.

It remained a one-goal game until Schenn was able to score into an empty net with 57 seconds left in the game.

Jake Allen stopped 21 of 22 shots as he improved his career record against the Devils to 6-0.

The win improved the Blues’ overall record to 12-3-1.

Worth noting: The Blues were 1 of 5 on the power play and killed off all four of their shorthanded situations … The Blues had 19 shots on goal in the third period and 40 for the game … Tarasenko was dragged down from behind on a breakaway in the third period, which drew a penalty but not a penalty shot … Robby Fabbri underwent surgery on his left knee on Tuesday in Chicago. He had re-injured his knee in a pre-season game.

Looking ahead: The Blues return home to host Arizona on Thursday night.
