LEADOFF QUICK HITTER NEWS

Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017

- Vladimir Tarasenko completed a Gordie Howe hat trick with two goals, two assists and a fight to lead the Blues to an 8-3 rout of the Edmonton Oilers Tuesday night at Scottrade Center. Brayde Schenn and Jaden Schwartz also had four-point games as Schenn had two goals and two assists and Schwartz scored one goal to go with three assists.

- Schenn has now scored at least one point in a career-high eight games. The goal for Schwartz was the 100th of his career and the eight goals were the most by the Blues since they scored 10 at Detroit in 2011.

- The Blues, who have won three games in a row, lead the Western Conference with a 16-5-1 record. They will host the Nashville Predators on Friday night.

- The Missouri Tigers announced Tuesday that star freshman Michael Porter Jr. will undergo surgery on his back and is expected to miss the rest of the basketball season. Porter, considered the number one recruit in the country, played in just two minutes of the first game of the season. He is still projected as a top pick in next year's NBA draft, so whether he will return to college or not is up for debate.
